The Federal Reserve

In this course you will learn some of the basic characteristics of the banking system. You will explore common misconceptions about banking, how banks really work, and how “bank panics” have impacted the economy.We begin our discussion of the Federal Reserve including: what the Fed is and how it regulates the amount of money in circulation, the rate of borrowing, growth of the economy, all about money supply, interest rates, and the organizational structure of the Federal Reserve System and why it works.
