What is Civil Engineering in College ?

عن هذا الكورس

Civil Engineering Courses by Hamid El Darwich: You need a course that tells you everything about Civil Engineering ? it's here. Story of the Course: When I was first year in college, nobody told me what Civil Engineering is about; you know people just say its designing buildings (but nothing specific !!), so I started asking myself: then what is the difference between civil engineering and architecture. Therefore, I had no idea about what I was going to learn in college and I had no idea whether I will like it or not. I think colleges should give their students an overview about what they expect to learn from Civil Engineering. To solve this issue, I decided to create this course to help prospective students decide whether or not they really like civil engineering based on facts that I am going to state. Why to take the course: if you are a high school student or a student from other major considering transfer, then you should take this course because the information here might convince you to become a Civil Engineer. Briefly, what is Civil Engineering: The definition of Civil Engineering – as I see it- is a profession that deals with civilization development. Civil Engineering is the distant cousin of Military Engineering. The first is deals with cities and development, and the latter deals with defending the same city. What are exactly the points covered in this course: I will give an overview about every single course in Civil Engineering Branches. We have 5 Branches in Civil Engineering: Structural Analysis & Design Water & Environmental Transportation Geo-technical

Simulate a Thermoelectric generator in ANSYS

In this set of lectures, you will find the complete steps to simulate the thermoelectric generators inside ANSYS.The course starts with geometry creation using SpaceClaim. A step-by-step guide on how to create the 3D model in the most flexible and easy way. The exact dimensions and placement of each component is explained in full detail supported with actual images of an actual commercial thermoelectric generator.Following this, the different materials definitions and their assignments to various components of the TEG. The used materials are actual properties referenced from published scientific articles.Next, you will see the meshing process. A good uniform mesh is formed. The mesh includes hexahedrons only. Detailed steps are shown and using connections between components are explained. After that, the analysis settings and the definitions of boundaries' conditions are explained in ANSYS Mechanical. Defining temperature boundaries and convection coefficients. Finally, you will learn how to display the different results in different forms (Contours, exact values, etc...). Contours of temperature and voltage. Also, you will learn how to do parametric analysis. Variation of performance at different temperatures and the at different loads. This is recorded using version 2021R1. The attached files can be opened in this version and any other later version released after 2021R1.

4D BIM for linear projects using Tilos 11 & Navisworks

Course aimed at engineers who work as Planning Engineers or Project Contols Managers who are passionate about BIM for infrastructures. In this course you will discover how to plan the construction of a bridge and a tunnel with the Trimble Tilos software, the most famous time-space scheduling tool that allows you to analyze not only the construction times of a work, but also its location in the space. Indeed, Tilos scheduling and planning software provides a simplified, visual look at your construction project through a powerful linear scheduling view. Always know the status of your construction project in order to stay on time and check how your planning and schedule are working together using comprehensive linear software, project management and linear scheduling methods. This advanced technology software for linear infrastructure projects combines time and distance into one graphical view, giving you more power to keep your projects on schedule and keep everyone on track. Without the space dimension it is difficult to plan the construction of a linear work efficiently, especially when you operate on several fronts of the work at the same time. You will also see how to make different software interactions with Tilos, including Autodesk Revit and Autodesk Navisworks, which allow you to model your structures in a 3D environment, to export the quantities (QTO) and then to integrate them with the 4D BIM (virtual construction sequencing).
