Operating System Course for Computer Engineering-Updated2025
This course contains the use of artificial intelligence. Some of the videos in this course were created using AI-assisted tools. These tools were used to professionally produce high-quality visuals and narration in order to make the learning process clearer, more engaging, and more efficient. All learning materials were carefully selected, organized, and updated by the instructor to reflect current knowledge and best practices. AI was used as a supportive technology, not as a substitute for subject-matter expertise, instructional design, or academic responsibility.Updates:Tens of New lecture videos and resources are uploaded (December 2025)This comprehensive Operating Systems course is designed to take learners from fundamental concepts to advanced, real-world mechanisms used in modern operating systems. The course combines strong theoretical foundations with practical intuition, visual explanations, and step-by-step examples to ensure deep and lasting understanding.Starting with the role and structure of operating systems, the course introduces how software, hardware, and users interact within a computer system. Learners then explore core components such as system architecture, computer system structures, and operating system design models, building a solid conceptual base.A major focus of the course is process management and concurrency. You will learn how processes and threads are created, scheduled, synchronized, and terminated, including detailed coverage of inter-process communication (IPC), message queues, pipes, signals, and the internal behavior of system calls such as fork(). The evolution of concurrency models, lightweight threads, and multicore programming is explained in a clear and structured manner.CPU scheduling is covered extensively through intuitive explanations, animated lecture slides, and numerous solved examples. Scheduling algorithms such as FCFS, SJF, SRTF, Round Robin, and Priority Scheduling are analyzed in depth, with performance c

xAPI Fundamentals - Track Learning with Greater Detail
xAPI allows you to track, in greater detail, how your learners interact with any learning content or application, no matter where the content lives. So you can now correlate what a learner learns AND what they can do in the real world. The key to this is xAPI statements. Short statements of who did the learning, what action they did, and a description of the action. These statements are then sent to a Learning Record Store (LRS) database, almost like a social media feed. You can then take those statements and create meaningful reports that give you more significant insights into learning than possible with SCORM inside a Learning Management System (LMS). This course is designed to help you get started with xAPI; you will get an overview of what it is, and its potential for learning analytics. You will then see how to use xAPI in standard eLearning tools you may already be using, like Articulate Storyline and Adobe Captivate. We will also explore templates and tools that make custom xAPI easy. If you are here to dive deeper, we also cover the custom code you need to fully control how and when your xAPI statements get sent to this LRS. This portion of the course is optional but allows you to customize fully how xAPI is sent over. So join me in this course, and let's cover everything you need to know to hit the ground running with xAPI.

HEC-RAS & GIS Flood Modeling | GeoRAS - AulaGEO
Welcome to this comprehensive course on river and flood modeling using HEC-RAS and HEC-GeoRAS, developed under a structured workflow aligned with Digital Twin concepts applied to hydrology, terrain modeling, and spatial analysis in hydraulic engineering. This course is designed to guide you from the fundamentals of terrain-based modeling to the development of complete hydraulic simulations using GIS-integrated workflows. Through a step-by-step and practical approach, you will learn how to build terrain models from DEM data, define river geometry, and perform steady flow analysis using HEC-RAS, supported by spatial data preparation in a GIS environment.Unlike courses that focus only on software commands, this training emphasizes engineering reasoning, model structure, and data consistency. You will understand how terrain, cross sections, river networks, and flow data interact within a hydraulic model, enabling you to interpret water surface profiles, flow behavior, and simulation results in real-world flood modeling scenarios.Additionally, the course introduces a Digital Twin perspective focused on terrain, hydrology, and spatial representation, where hydraulic models are not only used for simulation but also as structured systems to explore scenarios, evaluate system behavior, and support data-driven decision-making in river and flood analysis.Learning ObjectivesBy the end of this course, you will be able to:Understand the fundamentals of hydraulic modeling using HEC-RASCreate and manage terrain models from DEM and elevation datasetsDefine river systems, reaches, and cross sections for analysisBuild and run steady flow simulations for river and flood modelingInterpret hydraulic results such as water surface profiles and velocitiesPrepare and process spatial data using GIS and HEC-GeoRASGenerate river geometry in GIS and export it into HEC-RAS

Solar PV installations: fault finding basics
Hi friends,Finding a fault for a domestic Solar PV installation does not really need expert Electrical knowledge. It only needs you to understand the operating modes of an inverter, interpreting the indicators visible on the inverter, the batteries and DB boxes at your disposal. Which is enough to determine what is wrong with system?I am sure when you look at a car's dashboard and you can interpret the lights. This will give you an idea as to what could be wrong or right with the car? Well, the same applies to a trained fault finder who is equipped with the knowledge of how a solar PV installation functions. In this course, I will take you through the basic three operating modes of the inverter. Then, have a grip of the three most common fault types of the PV system. Also, how these type of faults can be quickly identified?Furthermore, show you how to analyze a Solar PV installation fault type which you can encounter. These scenarios will empower you to attempt to fault find any domestic Solar PV installations and identify the fault. Then even, advice an electrician consider the findings when repairing the fault. In the final analysis, about 65% of Solar PV Installation faults will need settings to be reconfigured and system design needs to be reviewed. Then, the 35% will need electrical knowledge to solve the problem. You will see when you have enrolled for the course.

Statistics explained easy 1 - Descriptives
Woooow! Are you at university and you don't understand what your statistics teacher is talking about? Here I will explain everything in an easy way :) Just day to day examples, and you will learn that statistics is not hard at all ;) A lot of my students who first did not pass statistics get not only a pass but a really high grade :) Of course this will not be a completely tailored course for you, (every statistics subject is different), like my private lessons, but I will structure it for you in such a way that you only have to learn the subjects which are relevant for you! This will mean that you can skip a lot of lessons. But hey, perhaps you will become a statisitics geek, and you can finish all the lessons (hahahaha, don't think so!) I guess to finish one statistics subject on average you will need around 40 hours, but for some people it can be much more or much less. In this course you will find: all the descriptive statistics which you need to knowBasic math skills which you need to perform the statistical calculationsCalculate correlation coefficient and a regression slope by handNext to the calculations I explain you fully what all topics mean and how to interpret them :)Most important I explain it in an easy going way.A lot of clear examples and hand on exercises to master your new skills. In the next course I will explain everything about the Normal Distribution (and explain also other distributions) (Coming soon!) And afterwards all inferential statistics (hypothesis testing) (coming soon!) And in my last course (Statistics Explained Easy - SPSS) (Already available), I explain completely to you how SPSS works! (Statistical package which will do all the calculation for you ;) )
