UX Design in the Cultural Field
This course contains the use of artificial intelligence.Welcome to UX Design in the Cultural Field. In this course you will learn how to apply UX design principles specifically to museums, galleries, cultural sites, and heritage projects. Cultural audiences seek meaning, narrative engagement, and memorable experiences — which makes cultural UX unique. We will combine research, frameworks, and hands‑on methods you can use immediately.Cultural institutions such as museums, galleries, heritage sites, and cultural platforms increasingly rely on digital experiences to engage their audiences. This course introduces practical User Experience (UX) research and design methods specifically applied to the cultural sector. In this course, you will learn how UX design can improve the way people interact with cultural content, both online and in physical spaces. Through a structured and practical approach, you will explore how to analyze existing museum and cultural platforms, identify usability issues, and design better visitor experiences. The course focuses on UX research rather than heavy design software, making it accessible even if you are new to UX. You will learn how to conduct basic usability analysis, map user journeys, evaluate digital cultural platforms, and translate research findings into actionable design insights.A key part of the course is the final portfolio assignment, where you will conduct your own UX research case study in the cultural field. The final outcome is a structured UX case study that can be included in your professional portfolio.By the end of the course, you will understand how UX principles can support cultural accessibility, a
