There is no rhythm without presence, when that presence becomes evident energy and ecstasy follow. However nothing worth doing is easy so expect to work your body and mind in the pursuit. Then watch with wonder as your skills progress, your perceptions sharpen, and your body strengthens. This practice will improve your memory, coordination and overall brain function. On a musical level your sense of timing, tempo, and swing will be greatly improved. Beyond technical understanding you will also be shown how to improvise based on your own intuition. To play this type of music takes a communal effort. The more we drum together the more we see how the interconnection of each of our individual rhythms create one larger singular rhythm. This course aims to equip you with the fundamentals of playing the DJEMBE so that you can enjoy with friends and family. It is most suitable for beginners, parents and teachers. You will be introduced to the basic sounds and hand positions of the DJEMBE. You will be given some exercise rhythms to practice and exercise. We will also sing some African songs and play along with the Djembe and some more small instruments. We can move our bodies, jamming with African music!Follow the video and have fun!

THE COURSEIn this "Practical Djembe Course", first of all, we will see the basic sounds of the Djembe, to be able to learn, then, a considerable number of rhythms.We will specifically learn 250 rhythms.Some of the rhythms are in 4/4 time signature (which is a way of counting time used in styles of music such as rock, pop, funk, Latin, hip-hop ...).Other rhythms are in 3/4 time signature (another way of counting time used in styles such as blues, jazz, swing, folk ...)In this way, we will have a repertoire of rhythms wide enough to play over our favorite songs and even improvise by combining some rhythms with others.In short, it is a practical method to approach the learning of this fabulous percussion instrument and introduce us to the world of rhythm and time.MUSIC PERCUSSIONPercussion is an extraordinary tool to connect with oneself and others.We all know the beneficial power of music, both physically and mentally.
