Lightweight Kubernetes (k3s) allows us to deploy a very low-footprint infrastructure to everything from big data centers to a Raspberry Pi that sits in remote locations. SUSE has provided us with a very simplified Kubernetes distribution that can be used in home labs for free or in data centers with vendor support. MicroOS will allow us to use an immutable operating system in which we can deploy a static system that is the same across the entire cluster. This also allows us to easily apply updates on a running system and roll back the system to a previous state at the filesystem level. Longhorn allows us to easily provision storage for our Kubernetes workloads. Helm will allow us to easily deploy applications into our environment with the simplicity of a package manager.In this course, we will be setting up a high-availability Kubernetes environment sitting on top of an immutable MicroOS environment.
